(Washington, D.C.) – U.S. Sen. David Vitter today issued the following statement after U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder announced that the Department of Justice will open criminal and civil investigations into the causes of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill:
“As I've said for weeks, we need to uncover all the facts and follow them wherever they lead. If they suggest illegal activity by BP or anyone else, that should be aggressively prosecuted. I thank the attorney general for taking that approach,” said Vitter.
