MOISHE’S “RED” TRUCK SHOCKED BY OSCAR SNUB
New York, NY— February 17, 2009 – Moishe’s Moving and Storage’s famous Red Truck has been snubbed by the Oscars again. The card carrying SAG member and classically trained actor is livid over a lack of invitation to this years’ Oscars Awards Ceremony (February 22nd). Red Truck, often credited as Red, made his acting debut in the mid eighties and has slowly climbed the ranks from unpaid background extra to a regularly working actor and recognizable truck about town.
Following the announcement of this years Oscar nominees, Red was extremely upset when he learned that he wasn’t among the Hollywood elite invited to attend this years’ festivities. It was a breakout year for Red, having appeared in two major motion pictures (Adam Sandler’s You Don’t Mess with the Zohan and Aasif Mandvi’s 7 to the Palace) and one HBO pilot starring Jason Schwartzman in 2008. But despite wide acclaim and solid reviews for his performances, he will not share the spotlight this Sunday with Brad, Angelina, Hugh Jackman or the cast and crew of Slumdog Millionare.
“It just feels like a slap in the face,” said Red. “I had already bought my tickets to Los Angeles, went through the trouble of booking a deluxe garage suite and now I don’t even have a reason to go. Of course, I’ll still be hitting up all of the after parties and hanging about with some of my co-workers, but not receiving an invitation to the festivities was appalling.”
