A Celebration of Quilts at the ABQ BioPark
Visitors can learn more about antique and modern
quilt styles at the Botanic Garden this weekend
ALBUQUERQUE, NM - Celebrate National Quilting Day with a quilting exhibition at the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden.
The event takes place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 18 at the Botanic Garden Showroom.
The Heritage Farm quilting group will feature antique and modern styles and engage with visitors about their artwork during this event. Demonstrations and an assortment of techniques will be featured throughout the day, including piecing a quilt block, hand quilting and appliqué.
"Join us at the BioPark Botanic Garden for an inspirational exhibition of truly spectacular quilts," said Cheri Vogel, ABQ BioPark curator of education.
You can also catch quilting demonstrations at the Heritage Farm on the second Wednesday of each month and the fourth Thursday of every month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The event is included with regular admission.
