Washington – Senator Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), a member of the Foreign Relations Committee, released the following statement today after a truck rammed into a crowd of people at a holiday Christmas market in Berlin. The German authorities are investigating the incident as a possible terrorist attack.

My thoughts and prayers are with those killed and injured, their loved ones, and all the people of Germany at this tragic moment. “The United States stands shoulder to shoulder with our German allies. Together, we will overcome this scourge of terror and violence.
