BigNews.Biz - Jul 24,2012 - The United States Olympic Committee and 24 Hour Fitness, a leading health club industry pioneer in the United States, will celebrate the official opening of Team USA's High Performance Training Center at the University of East London Docklands with a ceremonial ribbon cutting. Headlining the event are 2012 U.S. Olympians - Tony Azevedo, water polo, and Kerri Walsh, beach volleyball - as well as the head coaches of the men's and women's basketball teams - Mike Krzyzewski and Geno Auriemma.
24 Hour Fitness provided technical insight and consultation to the USOC to help design and outfit the HPTC, which serves as a home training base for Team USA's delegation of hundreds of athletes as they train to compete for gold. The HPTC's strength and conditioning facility has been equipped by 24 Hour Fitness and will be staffed throughout the Games by 24 Hour Fitness Ambassadors, a distinguished group of fitness professionals selected from more than 400 24 Hour Fitness clubs and 21,000 employees across the U.S. The Fitness Ambassadors will work with the USOC staff to manage the training facility around the clock in support of Team USA's athletes while they are in London.
