Junior Girl Scouts
Outdoor Creativity Badge
Let nature inspire your scouts as we facilitate six of the requirements of the Outdoor Creativity Badge. We’ll study Georgia O’Keeffe and try to imitate her style through our own tempera paintings. We’ll plant a garden, have a Garden tour, learn how to press flowers, design “leaf rubbing” greeting cards, and fashion a teasel and dried flower critter. We have a minimal group size of 30 scouts so team up with another troop or two in your neighborhood. One adult is required for every 10 girls. These adults are admitted free. All other adults must pay regular admission prices ($6.00/adult; $5.00/senior (55+). Cost per girl: $7.00. (This does not include the badge, per se.) Siblings are welcome to participate at the same cost. Call the Education Department to make your reservation 716-827-1584 ext 291.

We have a minimal group size of 30 scouts so team up with another troop or two in your neighborhood. One adult is required for every 10 girls. These adults are admitted free. Plant Try-its Badge
Let us help you complete the requirements for this badge here at the Gardens. Learn how plants make seeds, and then plant some seeds. Check out the baby embryo in a lima bean, find out how to propagate plants through cuttings, investigate plant parts and their functions, look at mold under a microscope, make leaf rubbings and tour the Gardens. We have a minimal group size of 30 scouts so team up with another troop or two in your neighborhood. One adult is required for every 10 girls. These adults are admitted
