WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.) released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) launched a $20 million campaign with a top public relations firm in an attempt to sell the unpopular ObamaCare law to the American people:
"It’s clear the burdensome and costly ObamaCare law is bad for families, seniors, and job creators, which is why the Obama Administration is spending $20 million to sell this unpopular legislation to the American people between now and Election Day.
“With government spending out of control and our federal debt at a record high, it’s unacceptable that President Obama intends to waste hard-earned taxpayer dollars in an attempt to offset the real impact of ObamaCare – a law that the majority of Americans soundly reject and that could be struck down and declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in less than a month.”
Poll after poll has found that opposition to the health care law remains strong, even more than two years after its passage.
A recent Rasmussen Poll shows 56 percent of voters favor repeal of ObamaCare, and according to a USA Today/Gallup Poll, 72 percent of Americans think ObamaCare will make things worse or won’t help their family’s health care situation.
