Tea partiers have been told to vote for Richard Mourdock for months now. In fact members of tea parties who wished to be objective in this race have been intimidated and ridiculed by the thuggish tactics of Hoosiers For a Conservative Senate, a branch of the Mourdock campaign. As president of The Tea Party of Hamilton County, I know this for a fact. I started out with an objective mind about this race, but as the months went on I refused to be bullied into supporting a candidate unworthy of being my senator.
FreedomWorks has attempted to paint Richard Lugar as a liberal Washington insider. After months of painstaking research, pouring over Sen. Lugar's 12,800 some votes in the Senate they released their manifesto against Lugar. What they discovered is that they disagreed with Lugar's votes less than 1 percent of the time. That, my friends, disproves their rhetoric.
As a former high school coach I like winners. Mourdock has run for public office 11 times over 20 years winning only three times. He was twice rejected for a congressional seat by those in his own district who know him best.
I am one tea party person who will vote for a successful respected senior senator, Dick Lugar.
