Indianapolis - Friends of Dick Lugar Campaign Manager Emily Krueger today released the following statement in response to reports of a non-credible pro-Mourdock poll:
"All along, the Mourdock campaign has been fueled by special interests from outside the State of Indiana - and this poll is just another example. Our internal polling shows Dick Lugar is, was and will remain in the lead. Our polling also shows Richard Mourdock's unfavorable ratings growing rapidly. The more Hoosiers learn about Mourdock, the less they trust him. At the end of the day, this race will be decided by Hoosiers and not by D.C.-based special interest polls."
Wenzel Strategies has been widely discredited as a non-credible polling firm, most recently after releasing a poll claiming to show 20% of Republicans leading toward Obama in the 2012 election.
The Lugar Doctrine states: the United States will use all of its military, diplomatic and economic power – without question – to ensure that life threatening weapons of mass destruction everywhere are accounted, contained and hopefully destroyed.
Additionally, the Lugar Doctrine asserts that the U.S. should encourage democratic institutions and decrease dependence on foreign energy sources.
