Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Scott Brown (R-MA) issued the following statement after Tarek Mehanna of Sudbury was sentenced to 17 ½ years in prison for conspiring with terrorists to murder American soldiers:
"I commend all those involved in bringing Tarek Mehanna to justice. His long prison sentence for supporting Al Qaeda and conspiring to kill our soldiers overseas is yet another reminder that home grown terrorism is a very real threat, even in a peaceful community like Sudbury.”
