BigNews.Biz - Apr 03,2012 - Hawthorne, NJ – April 3, 2012 – Akadema recently resigned Minnesota Twins pitcher, Liam Hendriks, to a glove contract for the 2012 season. The 23-year-old Hendriks was born in Perth, Australia and signed with the Twins as a free agent in 2007. Since then, he has been named to Team Australia in the 2009 World Baseball Classic and a member of the 2010 All-Star Futures team. As a control pitcher with excellent command of his three off-speed pitches he progressed through the minors and made his MLB debut on September 5, 2011. Following the 2011 season, Hendriks was named the Minnesota Twins’ Minor League Pitcher of the Year. Hendriks will be the Twins’ third starter this season and will be sporting his Akadema ATR 32 glove when he takes the mound. The first start of the season for the Twins right-hander will be Sunday, April 8 as the Twins take on the Orioles in Baltimore.
