BigNews.Biz - Jan 24,2012 - A recent study created by eHealthMe about Stress and anxiety among people who take Fosamax, reveals that out of 3, 501 users who reported experiencing anxiety while taking the drug, 92.30% of them are women. This is based from 48, 523 reports from FDA and user community concerning Fosamax and Anxiety.
Anxiety reports from Fosamax users were more rampant on 2008 with a record of 947 complaints. Most of those who reported experiencing anxiety are under Fosamax medication for two to five years.
The study also shows that Fosamax users aged above sixty are more stressed compared to younger users.
Most patients who are reported experiencing stress and anxiety while taking Fosamax are having one or two of the following health conditions: Osteoporosis, Osteopenia, Hypertension, Rheumatoid arthritis, and Anxiety.
The study also reveals some top medications used by patients while taking Fosamax: Fosamax plus d, Prednisone, Synthroid, and Zometa.
Anxiety though not considered by most people as a severe side effect of Fosamax, is declared by the study as a severe one.

Fosamax or alendronate sodium is a bisphosphonate drug used as treatment and prevention of osteoporosis and other bone loss problems. It is mainly used for Prophylaxis and treatment of female osteoporosis, Treatment of male osteoporosis, Prevention and treatment of corticosteroid-associated osteoporosis together with supplements of calcium and vitamin D, and treatment for Paget's disease. But, in spite of its effectiveness, recent studies and researches show evidences that it has adverse side effects.
