UK Dramatist Victoria Snaith Returns to the Stage in a New Avant Garde Multimedia Performance UK dramatist Victoria Snaith returns to the stage in her new work, Domestic Tinnitus, a multimedia performance piece to premier at The Birdcage in Stoke Newington, London, 12/13 Jan, 2012.
BigNews.Biz - Dec 18,2011 - (18 December, 2011. London, UK.) After a three year hiatus, UK dramatist Victoria Snaith will take the stage again in her new work, Domestic Tinnitus, a multimedia performance piece to premier at The Birdcage in Stoke Newington, London on the 12th and 13th of January, 2012.
The work addresses the mental deterioration of a woman plagued by disturbing sounds as she confronts and addresses her situation. The performance will feature live music by London-based avant garde music group Vultures Quartet and will also include short films by Cementimental’s Tim Drage in collaboration with Snaith.
Snaith’s previous work with The “F” Word, a feminism-driven avant garde troupe, prepared her for writing and directing Domestic Tinnitus. The new piece, like much of her work with The “F” Word, is movement-based and merges absurdity, serious commentary, and humour through mime, sound, and compelling story lines.
Domestic Tinnitus is part of The Birdcage’s new management’s vision to increase the amount of creative performance to be presented at the venue. The play will run for two days only, beginning at 8:30pm each night. Tickets are £5 and £3 concessions and are available at the door on the night of the performances. The Birdcage is located at 58 Stamford Hill Road, Stoke Newington, London, N16 6XS
