BigNews.Biz - Dec 13,2011 - BookChums interviewed author Parinda Joshi who has penned Live From London, a young love story. In the interview she elaborated about how she decided to base her novel in two cities - London and Mumbai and how she managed writing a novel with a full-time job along with pursuing other interests, like writing columns for GQ, travelling and photography. Parinda Joshi also spoke about how she switches modes to pull off the many roles that she plays.
Parinda Joshi’s book Live From London along with being a Light-hearted love story on one level examines the effect of reality shows on youngsters today. She observes that while penning the novel she was thinking of something that would be compelling enough to light the fire in an unmotivated but talented young girl. Public humiliation in reality shows can be extremely difficult to overcome. Considering numerous talented or otherwise youngsters are striving to be a part of reality shows made Parinda Joshi make it an integral part of the book.
Parinda Joshi, who has completed a Masters in Computer Science and an MBA in marketing, also spoke about her growing up years in Ahmedabad, India and how despite living in the US for more than a decade now she believes that she is very much an Indian at heart. Says author Parinda Joshi, “I’ve been in the US for almost a decade now but not much has changed. I still enjoy learning about the drama in my neighbor’s house, eating at hole-in-the-wall spots and speaking my mind.”
Another feather in Parinda’s cap is the blogs she regularly writes for GQ. Speaking about the blogging experience and Parinda elaborates, “It’s been a terrific ride. They have a fantastic team of creative people. It’s often said that it’s hard to figure out what makes women tick. The reverse is equally true. Trying to unearth that is challenging and fun.”
