BigNews.Biz - Aug 04,2011 - Melly Lifshitz, also known as Menachem Lifshitz is a philanthropist from New York who has participated in various charity events and support several charity organizations both in the local community and abroad. Despite his huge contributions in helping the charity sector, he still prefers to maintain a low profile. For him, the self satisfaction he gets from helping the less fortunate is more than enough an award.
He gets the inspiration from Bill Clark, a long-time Clarkston philanthropist who prefer to stay in the shadows despite the help and financial support he gives to numerous charity organizations. Bill often deflects his due by giving the credits to the people who work in the community. Melly cannot helped but be inspired by Bill’s humility which is obvious in his statement below which is published on ClarkstonNews.com.
"I think it's tremendous, when there is something going on that benefits people, the support of the community and the people, it's phenomenal. An example, something I wasn't really involved in outside of writing a little check, was the spray park. The same thing with 'Open Your Heart for Lighthouse. We basically just approached community business people and had very successful fund-raisers and nice parties and good times, and it's just because of the caring generosity of the people in the community."
Melly Lifshitz notices how Bill Clark emphasized the word “we” which he believes is the essence in helping one another. For Mel, money is nothing without the help of those people who sacrifice their time to build organizations that cater to various causes to help in uplifting the world from poverty and depression. He believes that in working together, people can make a difference.
Melly currently supports the Kulanu Academy, Camp Bais Chana, Shalva, Beit Medrash Program of Hebrew Academy of Nassau County, Yeshiva of South Shore Heller Resource Center, Turn 2 Foundation, and a lot more. Read more about Melly Lifshitz’s philanthropic works at www.mellifshitz.com.
