BigNews.Biz - Jul 20,2011 - A new entry was recently published on Mel Lifshitz’s blog describing the gala and concert he hosted in his home in Long Island to support the Yeshiva of South Shore Heller Resource Center.
“Melly Lifshitz recently hosted the Fourth Annual Gala BbQ and Concert in his home on Long Island's south shore. The event was organized to raise funds for the Heller Center learning programs. The Gala and concert was held on his lawn wherein a featured presentation was performed by the energetic Chassidic entertainer Lipa Schmeltzer.”
According to the blog’s entry, the gala and concert was spectacular due to Lipa Schmeltzer’s ability to meld the worlds of Chassidic music and popular entertainment has enthralled audiences around the world. The fund drive has successfully raised needed funds for the Heller Center Learning Programs.
The Yeshiva of South Shore's Heller Resource Center has a high teacher-pupil ratio. The teachers at the Heller Resource Center are able to accommodate each child's needs and ensure that he maintains the basic academic standards of his peers. The educational staff uses the same materials as the mainstream class, emphasizes the same skills, reads the same literature, and develops the same writing skills. In addition, they also perform diagnostic remediation; as a child's needs change, materials and methods are adjusted to meet those needs. Lessons are sequential and individualized as the teachers of the HLC build a hierarchy of skills for success.
