BigNews.Biz - Jul 13,2011 - Toronto, Canada - GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has announced the release of its portable optical power meter which is used to test continuous optical signals and is an ideal solution for optical cable construction, optical fiber attenuation measurement, optical fiber communication systems and optical fiber sensors.
This portable optical power meter, model C0260005, features automatic frequency range switching, automatic reset and power off, self-calibration, low battery alarm, automatic frequency identification and highly accurate measurement. It is equipped with a single-chip microprocessor and a built-in long wavelength camera probe. This optical power meter offers a switchable working wavelength range from 850 to 1700 nm together with optional modulation frequencies including 270 Hz, 1 kHz and 2 kHz to meet various requirements. The meter uploads data to computer for analysis via RS232 interface. In addition, the meter has memory capacity to store 1000 groups of data items and offers FC, ST and SC connectors for selection.
This portable optical power meter belongs to GAO’s family of Power Meters. This line includes various kinds of handheld optical power meters such as GAO C0260002 , GAO C0260006 and GAO C0260003 for construction and maintenance of fiber communications and CATV systems. This line also includes Fiber Optic Multimeter which is specifically designed for technical support personnel to test a variety of instruments with a single meter and Handheld Optical Power Multi Meter which integrates an optical source and optical power meter into one device.
